Crossovers are well known for its fuel efficiency because those cars are made for such purpose. But in recent years, automakers around the world have made strides in developing technology that allows crossovers to bring a better mileage. That is why it is not difficult anymore to find fuel efficient crossovers.
Here is the list of fuel efficient crossovers this year:
- Hyundai Tucson. This crossover offers a couple of 4-cylinder engines 2.0-0liter and 2.4-liter. The 2.0-liter version brings a 165-horsepower and the 2.4-liter provides a massive 176-horsepower. This car is efficient; the ratings are 21/30/25 mpg.
- Nissan Rogue. This is the one of the oldest crossovers in the list. Though it does not get a significant changes since it was firstly released in 2008, but the fuel consumption of this crossover is including high, which is 23/28/25 mpg.
- Audi Q5 Hybrid. This car appeared in the market this year. Though the engine is 2.0-liter turbocharged but the fuel efficiency is quite good, which is 24/30/26 mpg.
- Chevrolet Equinox. Though it is included in midsize crossover, under the Equinox’s hood, we will see a big capacity engine, which is 2.4-liter 4-cylinder that can provide 182 horsepower. However, it consumes less fuel because the rating is just 22/32/26 mpg.
Beside those fuel efficient crossovers, there are some products that can bring good fuel efficiency, such as Ford Escape, GMC Terrain, Honda CR-V, Jeep Compass, Jeep Patriot, Subaru Outback, Mitsubishi Outlander Sport, Subaru Forester, BMW X1 sDrive 28l, Buick Encore and Subaru XV Crosstrek.
